BC3 Basque Centre for Climate Change – Klima Aldaketa Ikergai, en adelante BC3, responsible for the website, in compliance with the obligations set forth in Law 34/2002, of July 11, on Services of the Information Society and Electronic Commerce, makes the conditions of use of the website available to users and reserves the right to the right to modify its content without prior notice.

Subscription or registration as a user is not required to access and use the Web page, notwithstanding that subscription or registration is necessary for the use of certain services or contents thereof.

In the event that subscription or registration to any of the contents of this website is required, BC3 will adopt the necessary technical and organizational measures to guarantee the protection of personal data and prevent its alteration, loss, treatment and/or unauthorized access, in accordance with the provisions of the Spanish legislation for the Protection of Personal Data in accordance with the provisions of the Privacy Policy that can be found in section 3 of these conditions.

The user agrees to make appropriate and lawful use of the website, as well as the contents and services, in accordance with current applicable legislation and the present conditions. In this sense, the user must refrain from making unauthorized or fraudulent use of the website and/or its contents for illegal purposes or effects and/or prohibited in these Conditions.

If a user includes a link to the Website on his own website, the link will only connect him to the home page of https://blueadapt.eu/, but he will not be able to reproduce it in any way. Although BC3 and the Partners will use the utmost diligence to provide updated and accurate information, BC3 and the Partners do not guarantee its updating and accuracy. BC3 is not responsible for any damages that may arise from the use of information on the website by users or third parties. Among others of:

Purposes of data processing

BC3 collects your personal data only to offer a functional and operational website and, where appropriate, to be able to manage your requests and offer you the services to which you have consented. In this sense, BC3 undertakes to process your data in accordance with Spanish and European legal regulations.

Treatment of your data

  1. Visits to website: Each time you access the website, the system automatically collects information such as:
    • IP Address.
    • Browser type.
    • Device.
    • Date and time of access.
    • Country of origin of the access.

This data collection is necessary for the optimal functioning of the website. These data will remain temporarily stored during the entire period of use of the website so that it works correctly. The data will not be used for marketing purposes. The legal basis for the temporary storage of data and log files is Article 6 Paragraph 1 Point f of the GDPR.

  1. Contact form: In the event that you contact BC3 using any of the contact forms on the Website or by sending us an email, the personal data included will be stored in its entirety. In the case of the form, the data collected will be the following:

    • Telephone number.
    • Subject/contact issue

For this data processing, we will request your consent before the form is sent and we will direct you to the privacy policy through a hyperlink.

We will treat the personal data included in the emails and the contact form exclusively for correspondence and response to the request made. If the establishment of the contact is related to a contract, article 6 paragraph 1 point f of the GDPR, will be the legal basis for the treatment additionally.

  1. Newsletter: Giving your consent you can subscribe to our newsletter through the website, through which we will inform you of any news regarding the BLUEADAPT Project, training. We will store the registration date to be able to prove your registration and, if necessary, to clarify a possible illegal use of your data.

You may revoke your consent to receive commercial communications at any time, through the link or button for that purpose in each of the communications. The information is saved during the period of time that you remain subscribed to the newsletter.

  1. Enrollment in training and events: To attend a training course or event you will need to register through a form on the website. The data collected will be the following:
    • First and last name.
    • Email.
    • Institution you represent or work for.

For this data processing, we will request your consent before the form is sent and we will direct you to the privacy policy through a hyperlink. 

Your data will be deleted as soon as it is no longer necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, unless you expressly consent to subscribe to the BC3 newsletter.

How we obtain your personal data

We collect two types of information:

  • Information you provide to us. For example, through web forms we will ask you for personal information, such as your name or your email address. 
  • Navigation information. This is information necessary to establish a connection with our servers, such as the IP address.

Accuracy and veracity of the data provided

As a user of the services, you guarantee and are responsible, in any case, for the accuracy, validity and authenticity of the personal data that you provide us, and you agree to keep them duly updated

Likewise you can also update the data or unsubscribe.

How long we will keep your data

The personal data provided by you will be kept as long as they are necessary to meet the purposes for which, in each case, they have been collected in order to maintain your relationship or link with BC3 and the Partners and you do not request their deletion, being likewise kept according to to the legal deadlines for compliance with legal obligations required of BC3.

Legitimation. Legal title enabling the use of the data

The legitimacy for the processing of the data on our part will be carried out in the terms established by article 6 of the European General Data Protection Regulation, relating to ordinary data, or, where appropriate, article 9 of said European Regulation relating to special categories of data, informing you of the legal title or titles that apply to each service provision, and which may be consent, the execution of a legal relationship in which you are a party, compliance with a legal obligation or our interest in the development of the services and competences themselves.

Recipients

Our service providers may have access to your personal data, as treatment managers, located in the European Union or outside the European Economic Area, either out of necessity to provide the requested service, or to be able to provide the service with the highest quality standards. In any case, BC3 will ensure that this data processing is always protected with the appropriate guarantees:

  • Standard clauses approved by the EU: These are contracts approved by the European regulator, and that provide sufficient guarantees to guarantee that the treatment complies with the requirements established by the European Data Protection Regulation.
  • Third party certifications.

Specifically, these service providers are:

  • Google Analytics, as a provider of web analytics services, which collects browsing information.
  • Mailchimp, as provider of the technological platform that we use to send newsletter emails.

Likewise, your data may be shared with some Partners belonging to the BLUEADAPT Project necessary to carry out the indicated purposes. Next, we detail the relationship of these entities:

Your data will not be transferred to other third parties, except to collaborating companies when this communication seeks to improve the service for which the data was provided, when there is a legal obligation to do so, or when you have been expressly informed.

What are your rights

You, or where appropriate your legal representative, have the right to access your personal data subject to treatment, as well as request the rectification of inaccurate data or, where appropriate, request its deletion when the data is no longer necessary for the purposes that were collected, in addition to exercising the right to oppose and limit the processing and portability of the data. In the case of having obtained your consent, you have the right to revoke it at any time.

You can exercise these rights by means of a written request accompanied by a photocopy of your identification at the email address ARCrights@BC3research.org.

In the same way, you can withdraw consent at any time, without this implying any effect on the treatments carried out prior to said withdrawal. In any case, you can file the corresponding claim with the Spanish Agency for Data Protection.

Likewise you can also update the data or unsubscribe.

Other information

We have implemented the necessary technical measures in order to protect your data and information from accidental loss, unauthorized access, use and disclosure. However, despite the diligent implementation of such measures, you should know that security measures are not impregnable. We are not responsible for the actions of third parties that, violating said measures, access the aforementioned data and information.

BC3 reserves the right to update the conditions of use and/or the privacy policy, if necessary, appropriate measures will be taken to inform users of the changes made.
