Albert Martinez holds a BSc in physics from the Universitat of Valencia and a master's degree in Meteorology from the Universitat de Barcelona. He worked at BSC from 2020 to 2023 on projects involving the co-production and co-development of climate services products. In particular, he focused on research projects involving climate services for the retail sector. He was also involved in some H2020 projects like FOCUS, where he worked on developing vignettes or code tutorials focused on calibrating and verifying seasonal data for users from national meteorological centers in SADC countries.
In December 2023, he moved to Bologna to work in the Climate Variability and Prediction (CLIVAP) division at the Euro-Mediterranean Centre for Climate Change (CMCC), supporting activities related to climate modelling and climate data management. His role in BlueAdapt mainly focuses on activities related to data collection, post-processing, and the provision of climate data for the case studies involving the project's partners.
Albert's main interests lie in meteorology and climatology, particularly in understanding the dynamics of climate change. He is also interested in adapting future climate information and its uncertainties to provide valuable insights that enable various sectors and society to design strategies aimed at mitigating the effects of climate change.
