Iñigo de Miguel Beriain works as Ikerbasque Research Professor at the University of the Basque Country. He has a bachelor in economy, a PhD in law and a PhD in Philosophy. Over the last ten years, his research has focused on issues related to ethics and law in the biomedical and public health fields and data protection and AI ethical and legal issues. He has published more than fifty articles and book chapters in journals of extraordinary impact. He has also participated in more than twenty national and international research projects, leading an H2020 project, PANELFIT, related to data protection issues. In the last three years he has been acting as co-coordinator in the Panelfit project (H2020), devoted to data protection issues. He has participated as invited speaker in more than a hundred congresses, conferences and workshops. He is a member of the Spanish Bioethics Committee. He also advises the EU Parliament (STOA Panel).
