Lorenzo Sangelantoni

Lorenzo Sangelantoni (CMCC) is a postdoctoral researcher in the CMCC Climate Simulation and Prediction (CSP) Division. His research is mainly focused on regional climate modelling.

Lorenzo has several years of experience in performing regional-scale climate simulations. This includes applying both dynamical and statistical downscaling techniques to different temporal horizons numerical simulations, from short-term weather predictions to long-term climate projections.

Recently, he was involved in performing and analysing the new generation of very high-resolution regional climate simulations within the context of the CORDEX flagship pilot study “Convection” in collaboration with the Bjerknes Center. He holds a PhD in Science (Oceanography and atmospheric physics scientific sector) and more recently he taught the atmospheric dynamics course at the Sapienza University of Rome and University of L’Aquila.
