Nestor Etxebarria Loizate holds a PhD in Chemical Sciences and is a Professor of Analytical Chemistry at the UPV/EHU.
Nestor leads a research group in the development of non-target analytical methods and their application to environmental and ecotoxicological issues. He is currently working on the analysis of the human and environmental exposome and the study of how climate change and chemical pollution may affect the impact of coastal pathogens within the ONe Health framework.
Many of our activities are linked to various research groups in the Basque Country, Spain and Europe, especially those carried out in the framework of the European Norman network and the EMBRC (European Marine Biological Research Centre).
Nestor is a member of the academic council of the Erasmus Mundus Master in Marine Environment and Resources (now Erasmus+, 2018-2023) and coordinates the Master in Environmental Contamination and Toxicology at UPV/EHU.
