Niamh Cahill is a research associate working on the BlueAdapt project. She is based in the Discipline of Bacteriology at the University of Galway and is a member of the Antimicrobial Resistance and Microbial Ecology Research Group and the Centre for One Health (University of Galway).
Niamh completed a BSc. in Midwifery in 2015, followed by a MSc. in Biomedical Science in 2017. While working in the University of Galway over the last five years, Niamh has worked closely with both national and international organisations on a variety of different projects relating to antimicrobial resistance in the environment, food and animals.
Previous projects Niamh has worked on include MedVetKlebs (OneHealth EJP funded project), AREST (EPA and HSE funded project) and an EPA funded research gap analysis on AMR and the Environment in preparation of Ireland’s second One Health Action Plan on Antimicrobial Resistance 2021-2025.
