Olgalú is a dynamic postdoctoral researcher in BC3's Adaptation Lab. In the project BlueAdapt she is merging social-ecological systems with participatory action to address health challenges in the study case of the Butroe River Transition and the Bay of Plentzia. Her work focuses on understanding the interdependencies of health in social-ecological systems and supporting the One Health living lab.

Olgalú holds a PhD in Biodiversity, conservation and management and has more than 15 years of leading sustainability projects in Andean countries, mainly in Colombia. She was involved in projects related to management plans (ecosystem and species), nature-based solutions, biodiversity conservation and agricultural landscape planning with local communities in conflict and post-conflict regions.

Olgalú is a born collaborator. She is fluent in transdisciplinary research spaces and has participated in co-design and co-creation projects with local communities and policymakers. She helps to bridge the gap between scientific research and practical strategies, seeking solutions that are equitable, inclusive, and grounded in social-ecological realities.
